Role: Director of Business Development

Job Type: Full-time, Exempt

Reports To: Chief Development Officer

Location:  Nashville, TN



The Director of Business Development is responsible for developing a strong pipeline of potential practice partnerships and performing deal-related analysis-including financial modeling, due diligence, and negotiations. This position will facilitate the sourcing of affiliation targets through existing clinician relationships, proactive outreach, and brokers and support executive management in executing strategic business initiatives as they are identified.

Essential Job Functions*:

  • Develops trusted advisor relationships with potential partners and other key stakeholders
  • Develops relevant materials to present pending deals to financial partners, executive team, and Board of Directors
  • Serves as a primary point of contact and owns full sales life cycle while building long-term relationships with potential partner doctors
  • Develops and articulates a strategic and comprehensive business plan for an assigned territory and manages all development activities for this territory
  • Leads and attends meetings with private equity partners, finance, and other key executives
  • Identifies winning strategies by understanding the future partner’s needs, challenging the status quo, and creating opportunities for partnership
  • Participates in industry organizations and informal networks to develop, build, and sustain a robust set of professional relationships
  • Negotiate and participate in pricing strategy to craft competitive deal scenarios
  • Regularly and consistently use CRM system to ensure that data reporting, practice information, and sales activity/pipeline are up to date
  • Post LOI, leads the due diligence process and holds each stakeholder accountable to ensure commitment to timelines – resulting in timely deal closing
  • Serves on key strategic charters in a consulting capacity – providing relevant information from a future partner perspective

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Marketing, Finance or related field
  • Proven business development experience
  • Ability to work beyond a standard work schedule

Preferred Requirements:

  • MBA Preferred
  • Healthcare experience
