There was no movement on any bills this week. We are waiting for the bill filing deadline next week on Thursday, to fully know what we will be facing. Check out the bill report to see what we have flagged and are tracking now.
The open letter of Tennessee Businesses Against Discrimination has been our main focus this week.
If you have not signed the letter we would like you to.
Please connect Joe to who could make that decision if you are a corporation, and if you are a small business please email Joe telling him you would like to sign on. We have many but want more.
Forward this around and ask other businesses you know to do the same.
Let's show legislators that business is against discrimination.
We will release the letter next Wednesday at 11am. We will send final details to members early next week.
There has been
more coverage
on the Adoption Bill. There was also a
story that came out yesterday
that highlights what we have been working on. The business community spoke out loudly against the adoption bill to the Governor, we are working to keep the pressure up on other legislation.

What an incredible performance last week.
Nashville Children's Theatre
’s Secret Soldiers did not disappoint. Thank you to
AllianceBernstein for sponsoring this evening of education, connection, and art. Guests truly felt the intersectionality of marginalized communities throughout Secret Soldiers. The Q&A led by Ashlee Davis from AB and Ernie Nolan from NCT revealed how this show, while set during the Civil War, demonstrated 2020 topics we are still dealing with today. We look forward to presenting similar partnerships and events like this int he future.

Joe spoke to
Leadership Tennessee on Wednesday about economic and community development in Nashville. Facilitated by Michelle Brown of
Amazon, they were also joined by Audra Ladd from Mayor Cooper's Office, James Weaver from the Nashville Business Coalition, and Ralph Shultz of the
Nashville Area Chamber.
They discussed what makes Nashville so attractive to businesses and what could harm our ability to keep attracting business. Joe was sure to highlight businesses' fear of discriminatory legislation that stops companies from attracting and retaining talent in the state.

Our Pride in Business group met for our Q1 meeting. Thank you to our member
Waller
for hosting! We discussed the legislative session, how corporations can take action against anti-LGBT bills, and how ERGs are creating intersectionality in their work spaces. These invaluable meetings give LGBT corporate ERG leaders the chance to share ideas and programs to help strengthen diverse and inclusive work spaces.
