Thank you for being a member.
During this time of national crisis, when information and connections are so important,
the Weekly Wrap-Up will be made available to members and non-members.

CEO Brief -
We hope you are hanging in there and healthy. COVID-19 numbers keep rising and we are still headed in the wrong direction. A second shutdown is looming if we cannot get these cases down.
Yet, with all of this, we still see people not wearing them and some businesses not requiring them. We hope you will do your part in wearing one and for speaking out and calling for others that are not wearing one.

It has been very  difficult for me to understand why people don’t wear a mask , maybe you are feeling the same way. I read an article that helped explain some things and I have tried to keep this mind as we continue to educate and advocate for mask usage and in general.  I can’t recommend the article  The Role of Cognitive Dissonance in the Pandemic  enough  to help you better understand these times and also how to maybe change minds and behaviors in other areas.
One behavior we have to change, VOTING!  Early voting for the Aug. 6 election  started today at  8 a.m and continues until August 1st. Use  this schedule to find a voting location near you . All early voting locations are open. I highly recommend visiting our member Casa Azafran to early vote! Wherever or whenever you do it, just show some PRIDE at the polls and  VOTE

Take a look at other items from the week below. We are looking for new board members and we really enjoyed networking and connecting at our Brewing Up Business. I needed that event to recharge. I hope you can recharge and find the energy to keep getting through this.  We are here for you.

Coronavirus Response

What We Did
Our Board gathered earlier this week for our bi-monthly board meeting. We are excited about some updates and work that we will fill you in on shortly.
We are looking for nominations for new board members to be elected in December! If you or someone you know is interested, please contact our President, Ron Sniker for more information on the process.

We had another well-attended networking event this week! Great crowd, great conversation, great connections! You can watch the announcements section if you missed it.

We continue to see more and more people from Nashville and the country that want to network and connect right now. We hear from so many after these events and they share how they enjoy them. We want you to join us.

Information about upcoming networking events can be found below.

Today is the first day of early voting in Davidson County. You can find the schedule below.

Remember to request your absentee ballot by July 30th. If you are a first-time voter, go to your county election commission to present your ID. Once they confirm your ID, you may request an absent ballet.

No fundamental change happens unless you vote for candidates and policies you believe in!
We virtually attended Nashville Business Journal's Women of Influence Forum & Awards. While this event looked much different than in previous years, it was still impactful and inspiring. Our members were well represented:

Nancy VanReece, and Melinda Buntin & Susan Wente of Vanderbilt University.
