We are here for you and in this together.

CEO Brief

What a week of PRIDE! This month has been non-stop and this week seemed like one of the busiest. Lauren and I are hanging on and trying to just get through June so we can take some breaks in July! If we owe you an email response we are sorry, we are both way behind in, but you know, PRIDE. Ha!

After 15 long months, we were back to in-person events with our June/Pride Brewing Up Business with over 100 people at the Grand Hyatt. It was amazing! It was so good to see people in person and I hugged a lot of members and made new friends. We had over 20 first-time attendees.

The other highlight of the week was the awesome tour of the new Nashville SC stadium. We thought we were just going to stand in front of the site and talk with their CEO Ian Ayers about Pride Night and diversity and inclusion. When we got there we got the full treatment and donned safety equipment and had a camera crew follow us around. This was the first and only tour so far that has been taped and broadcast of the new stadium. Like everything Nashville SC has done, this went above and beyond. I hope you watch the video and are excited as we are to celebrate Pride Night there next year and I hope you have your tickets for this year in Nissan Stadium.

It was great to talk about Pride and the Chamber’s work with many members this week. Those included a wonderful conversation with John Esposito, Chairman, and CEO of Warner Music Group, with the entire team at WMG. We also had a meeting with Metro Nashville Police Department senior leadership around their diversity and inclusion work and how much they are doing with the LGBT community. Nakia Reid, LGBTQ Liason, is working with us on some exciting programs we will be unveiling shortly. And we ended the week talking with our member MLC (Music Licensing Collective) on the history of Pride and the anti-LGBT laws at the state legislature.

I want to close by telling you to go check out all the buildings that are lit in rainbow. I was so proud and happy to see our member AllianceBernstein's new building let up prominently in downtown Nashville. It is beautiful and inclusive and you can’t miss it. I loved that all the Southern Baptists visiting this week had to see it as they left the MCC. Welcome to Nashville y’all, where we are loving and inclusive and we are not afraid to show our Pride!
