Please take our survey to help us improve your Chamber. Your input is so valuable. We are using the info we gathered for many initiatives currently underway with the Chamber. We have had a great response but would love even more data. Please take 5 minutes and complete.
CMI Survey Results
Speaking of survey data. Community Marketing & Insights (CMI) has released its 13th Annual LGBTQ Community Survey® report. Over 32,000 respondents from the LGBTQ (lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer) communities in 130 countries participated in the 13th annual survey. 200+ LGBTQ media, events and organizations (including the Nashville LGBT Chamber) worldwide partnered with CMI in this year’s study, helping to present diverse, representative data from across the community.
Please take a few minutes this weekend or on Monday with your morning coffee to check out the results of this survey. There are some very interesting results, and we will be using this data to help craft Chamber initiatives as well.
We were invited to the Nashville Business Journal's Expand Conversations event on Tuesday. We worked in diverse groups and explored how to bring conversations regarding race, diversity, and inclusion to our community. These are the conversations building equity for business in Nashville. We will continue to build our network and power until we are inclusive of all. We will let you know about the next one, this is an incredible program that we hope all our members can participate in.
The Elder LGBT Community
We had the opportunity to speak with two organizations who are working for the senior community and want to have more of a focus on aging LGBT citizens. Tuesday, we spoke with AARP during their Tennessee Executive Council Meeting here in Nashville. During their “Deep Dive in Diversity”, we spoke about the LGBT community and how AARP can work towards diversity and inclusion with who they serve. On Wednesday, we met with Eliza from FiftyForward. FF is meeting with different LGBT organizations to plan on making senior spaces more inclusive for LGBT members. We love to form partnerships with organizations like AARP and FiftyForward and the aging LGBT population is something we and many others are focused on.

From our member and 2019 Leadership in the Arts Award winner The Belcourt Theatre.
Following June’s 50th anniversary of the Stonewall Riots in New York (considered the birth of the modern LGBTQIA movement), it seems fair and necessary to highlight several films which have helped to document the history of the queer community. The Belcourt Theatre brings you the film series “Queer Qlassics”. Make plans to attend one of the following showings:
The Bigger Splash, Wednesday, July 24th, 7:00 pm: Introduction from artist, stylist, and conservationist Arthur Kirkby
The Queen, Wednesday, July 31st, 7:00 pm: Post-screening performance/discussion with Anita Coxx, Tammy Whynot and Thierry Meisel of the SheHaw drag show
