I hope you saw our email about the ACLU of Tennessee filing a suit to challenge the anti-trans Bathroom Signage Bill and stop it from going into effect on July 1st. We are proud of the Chamber members that are plaintiffs. More information on this and how you can play a part in supporting the challenge in the Advocacy section below.
It was great to speak with many members this week about Pride and diversity and inclusion. Thanks to the Nashville Convention and Visitors Corporation and Second Harvest Food Bank of Middle Tennessee for having us and for your membership.
There were several more educational and Pride programming events as well. The Tennessee Diversity Consortium held a panel on employee resource groups and their importance in business, and it was great to have board members Nikki Gibson of Dell, Terry Vo of Comcast, and Arianna Flax of Culture Shift Team join as well. Adrianna also taught our Classroom Connect program on the Business of Inclusion, check it out if you missed it. People3 also had a wonderful panel on Being LGBTQ+. And I was honored to moderate a national panel discussion for the ADL (Anti Defamation League) on Affective Allyship for the Trans Community, where four Southern trans activists were able to share their work and educate on this critical issue. We will be sharing recordings of all when they become available.
