The Weekly

Wrap Up

October 15, 2021

Your email on all things the Chamber worked on this week and what you need to know.

CEO Brief

It was great to kick off the week with National Coming Out Day, we saw so many inspiring stories from members and the community on coming out and how important that was to them and is for others to see. LGBT History month is going strong and we love sharing our member’s history, check out the EDUCATE section below.

We wrote an open letter of support for the David McMurry street naming and sent it to the Planning Commission. We were excited to see the Commission vote Thursday to rename the street and honor an incredible community member, one we lost far too soon. Thanks to Councilmember Nancy VanReece for coming up with and leading this action to honor David.

It was a busy week of connecting, check out the CONNECTIONS section below to see what we did and what we have coming up! I hope you are planning to join us Thursday for our October Brewing Up Business. Cooler weather is on the way and we hope you enjoy the fall weather.

- Joe

Celebrating the history of our community means educating ourselves about the pioneers from across the world that fought hard for a more inclusive future. We sat down with Nashville Queer History for a little history lesson of our own and are so excited to share these stories with you!

We were honored to attend the Nashville Scene's Best of Nashville last night. So many of our members were recognized. Congratulations to all the winners!

WHAT WE DID
