CEO Brief -
The city has announced that, for the first time, three of eight COVID metrics are now in the red: transmission rate; 14-day new case trend; and new cases per 100,000 residents. It is more important than ever to double down on wearing masks, staying apart through physical distancing and washing hands. Please make sure to stay vigilant about your workplace protocols to keep employees and customers safe.
Three surrounding counties today have reinstated their mask mandates: Williamson, Wilson, and Sumner counties. This will help our region have some consistency on mask-wearing, especially as you interact with co-workers and customers from surrounding counties, and should go a long way in helping bring our case counts down.

We want to make sure you are aware that the CDC has changed its definition of a close contact, which could impact your workforce as they interact with customers. A close contact is someone who was within six feet of an infected person for a cumulative total of 15 minutes or more over a 24-hour period. Cumulative total means individual exposures added together over a 24-hour period, such as three five-minute exposures for a total of 15 minutes. This change greatly expands the pool of people considered at risk of contracting COVID-19, as the previous definition referred to those who spent at least 15 consecutive minutes within six feet of a confirmed case.

We had an amazing Classroom Connect on Thursday where we learned a lot about customer feedback. Thanks to the amazing speakers we had and to HCA Healthcare/Tristar Health for sponsoring. Make sure to take a look at the video and the great tips!

Have a safe and fun weekend. We will be talking with you next week about some exciting announcements and upgrades that will directly benefit our members!

Coronavirus Response

New cases are rising, and we need to stop this surge so we can protect our economy. We flattened the curve earlier this fall, and we can do it again. Please remember: Masks. Stay apart. Wash hands. And – get a flu shot. Thank you for being part of the solution. We will beat this virus.

We ask all of our members to complete the Nashville Area Chamber’s annual Vital Signs survey. We have used the findings of this survey in the past to advocate on our policies, please fill it out!

Vital Signs looks at trends in the workforce, housing, transportation, and growth that impact the Middle Tennessee region. The Vital Sign Survey is one of the few surveys that give policymakers real-time information about what Nashville/Davidson County residents and residents throughout Middle Tennessee are experiencing, which is especially important as we weather COVID-19 and work toward recovery. Take the survey here.
