CEO Brief- ?
We have been working on the Nashville Business Journal ad congratulating the new Metro elected officials and it will go to print on Tuesday.

We plan to attend the swearing-in ceremony for Mayor Cooper and all Metro Council Members tomorrow morning. You can find the details here if you would like to attend.

We were sad to hear that Ashford Hughes, Chief Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Officer in Mayor Briley's office, was not kept on staff to continue his work with the new administration. We lobbied hard for Ashford to stay in this job and we will miss him. He has worked extremely hard making Nashville a more equitable city for all. Here you can see a list of Metro Nashville Equity Milestones that Ashford and Mayor Briley achieved with the help of the Minority Business Council . We thank both of them for their dedication and commitment to minority businesses. Now we get to work making sure we continue to move forward around this work with Mayor Cooper and his administration.

TASTE- We are full on with planning for TASTE. We need you. Please see how our members can help us in the TASTE section below.

What We Did
NashvilleHealth and the Metro Public Health Department (MPHD) held a Findings Presentation on Thursday for the Nashville Health + Well-Being Survey. Key insights were shared including only 70% of the lesbian, gay, and bisexual population reported having insurance coverage compared to 90.1% of Nashvillians. You can find more insights and complete results here.
We will be working with other community partners in presenting these findings in more detail to the community and to our members. The findings around LGBT answers and how they compare are extremely fascinating and concerning.
We want to send a huge congratulations to our Board President, Ron Snitker, who started Leadership Nashville . Ron is in the 44th class of the program that started on Thursday.

Providing open and affirming counseling services to young people who identify as Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and/or Transgender is even more difficult to find now that legislation has been passed in Tennessee that allows counselors and therapists to be able to deny services based on faith based objections. With your help, we can continue to serve LGBT youth during their most vulnerable moments, as well as become more equipped to receive additional young people who may be turned away from other clinicians within their communities.

Drinks and Hors D’oeuvres will be provided and dress is Cocktail. Purchase your tickets below.
